NEWS FLASH
New Orleans. Louisiana The Mardi Gras revelry was interrupted early
this morning when Shelby McCammon, daughter of the senior United States
Senator from Louisiana. was found dead in her home, victim of an
apparent self inflicted gun shot. This terrible tragedy comes on the
third anniversary of the suicide of her own mother and only weeks after
Senator McCammon won a bitterly contested reelection to the United
States Senate in what many are calling the ugliest political campaign
in recent history. The FBI has assumed control of the investigation but
would not comment NOLA News Radio Beau McCammon (Damian Chapa, MONEY
TALKS, BLOOD IN BLOOD OUT, STREET FIGHTER) returns to New Orleans to
attend the funeral of his sister and to face the ghosts of his own
family's sordid past. At the funeral he is reunited with his father,
Senator Woodrow McCammon (Rod Steiger, three time Academy Award
Nominee-Best Actor for IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT, PAWNBROKER) from whom
he has been estranged. It is not only his father that he must face at
the funeral but also his former fiancee Brittany (Ashley Laurence, HELL
RAISER I, II, III, CUPID). Before he can speak to her, his very
eccentric and menacing cousin, Collin McCammon, (Brad Dourif, T Academy
Award nominee for ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST, MISSISSIPPI BURNING,
ALIEN: RESURRECTION) intercepts him and insists that they must urgently
speak. They are interrupted by two FBI agents who suggest to Beau that
they suspect that his sister's death may have been murder Devastated
and confused by this information, Beau goes to Brittany's apartment in
the French Quarter to share with her what the FBI agents told him. She
dismisses the FBI agents' allegations. She believes that the FBI agents
are on the opposing political party's payroll and are simply attempting
to discredit the Senator in an attempt to have his election overturned.
Now an Assistant District Attorney, she agrees to review the
confidential police report of his sister's death with Detective
O'Reilly (Charles Napier, RAMBO, SILENCE OF THE LAMBS). Beau arrives at
the family estate where he is met by his grieving father who pleads for
reconciliation with his son. As Beau leaves, he is forcefully abducted
by Coilin who takes him to a cemetery which he claims contains dark
family secrets. Coilin also dismisses the FBI allegations but warns
Beau to leave New Orleans for his own safety.
Later, after reviewing the police report and
his sister's will, Beau is convinced that her death was murder and that
the motive was to gain control of his sister's $18 million trust. But
who had the motive: the FBI? his cousin Coilin? What follows is a
suspenseful heart racing chase through the steamy streets of the French
Quarter and the alligator filled bayous...a riveting thriller of
murder, conspiracy and the oldmate betrayal that will keep you guessing
until the very surprise ending. the French Quarter and the alligator
