Ralph (David Richard) and Erick (Jim Gray) are delivery men on a mission. Menaced by gangs, harried by Right Turn Only signs, they dare to deliver where almost everyone has gone before...only faster, so they can pad their time cards. They perform their job with a spirit of high adventure but questionable intelligence. Scheming Gina (Michelle Verhunce) is the sexy receptionist for a diamond wholesaler, and she has another mission for them: to help her steal 20 million in diamonds without their knowing. Tired of her lecherous boss, Simon, Gina smuggles out the diamonds in Ralph's delivery package. Simon discovers that Gina and her accomplices have heisted his diamonds and he decides to teach them a lesson with his shotgun! Erick doesn't understand why Simon is shooting at them, so he shoots back...apparently killing Simon. Now they have unwittingly committed armed robbery and murder.

In their frantic escape, the delivery truck flips over and explodes. In desperation, they hijack a cab. The police, headed by Detective Michaels (Jonathan Lutz) immediately arrive at the crime scene. Detective Michaels corners them in an alley and captures them after a head-on collision The two cars explode, which allows the bungling trio to escape.

Gina reluctantly agrees to give Eric and Ralph a share of the diamonds...a very small share! With no place to hide, the trio turns to Erick's girlfriend, Maria (Gina La Piana), a flamboyant Puerto Rican hairdresser who achieved fame by putting extensions on Grizzly Adams' beard. Gina and Maria immediately hate each other, especially after Maria realizes that these are real diamonds and how little the boys are to receive. Gina decides that her allowing them to hide in her trailer qualifies her to become the fourth partner. The foursome conclude that the best way to get money quick is to sell the diamonds to their friendly, neighborhood fence, Anthony (Ludo Wolfebain)·

Meanwhile, the cops are closing in on them. As the others sleep, Gina sneaks out with the diamonds but is intercepted by Detective Michaels, who sees the diamonds as an opportunity to fund his retirement, in the ensuing melee, Detective Michaels gun discharges, striking the trailer's propane tank. The massive fireball which engulfs Maria's trailer is obviously enhanced by her illegal stockpiling of hair spray.

Tattered but still alive, Erick, Ralph, Gina and Maria head for their final rendezvous to sell the diamonds and live the good life.

With the mob, the cops, and street hoodlums closing in on them these four "diamonds in the rough", face the challenge of their lifetime in this action packed heist of the century.
