On a balmy Malibu night, a millionaire real estate developer, Thom Delaney, takes the ride of his life to the bottom of the cliff outside his Oceanside mansion! Is his death an apparent accident, suicide or murder? Placed in charge of solving this high society murder is Detective Jake White (Kurt Schwoebel). Jaded by his years on the Malibu Police Department and burnt out by the fast paced Malibu social scene, Jake and his partner Tim Guthrie (Jay Ehler) soon discover that Delaney's death was not an accident. A missing candlestick holder, an unidentified blond female assailant, an estranged son, mistresses, mysterious business partners, and hidden financial schemes are the most obvious clues to this shocking crime. As the pair investigate Delaney's sordid social life and business affairs, they find no shortage of leads. When Jake researches Delaney's real estate holdings, he accidentally stumbles upon a strange real estate transaction wherein Jake's former girl friend, Lisa (LoriDawn), is a named principal in this questionable multi million dollar deal. It is later discovered that Lisa had been with Delaney the night of his mysterious death thus Tim strongly argues that Lisa is their prime suspect and that she should be immediately charged with murder. Jake cannot believe that Lisa is capable of such a complicated business scheme, much less murder. As the investigation develops, Jake is lured into becoming romantically involved with Lisa over the strong objections of Tim. When Jake learns that Lisa has been secretly meeting with Delaney's estranged former lover and business partner, socialite Elaine Blythe (Vanessa Giorgio), he reluctantly acknowledges that Tim may be correct in his belief of Lisa's guilt. However when Tim conveniently discovers Jake's best informant, Little, dead in a cheap motel, Jake bccomes suspicious when Tim argues that Little's death was suicide.
Frustrated in the investigation and confused over who he can trust, including his long time partner Tim, Jake is lured into an exciting high speed pursuit of Lisa on Malibu's beautiful but deadly mountain roads. In this story of intrigue and passion, MALIBU NIGHTS has never been darker or more thrilling.
