Miles Feldman is a filmmaker
who is struggling to find peace in his soul and discover the deep
truths of existence. Plagued by emptiness and an unnamed despair, Miles
is observed from the spirit realm by his parents, Sydney and Miles is
an experienced low-budget exploitation filmmaker, but now wants to make
a movie about the deep truths of life, involving religious,
philosophical, and scientific insights instead of the usual
guns-and-buns--and hopefully find the answers he needs in the process.
But his producer Vince Long won’t put up a dime for art. So Miles and
his best friend, cameraman David (Richard Neil), decide to start
filming anyway. Miles unwisely becomes romantically involved with his
spunky lead actress Ashley.Sydney and Rose watch all this with dismay,
and subliminally warn Miles that he is heading for trouble with his
under-paid, overworked crew. Ashley and Miles are harassed by Ashley’s
crazed ex-boyfriend Greg while David’s wife Lori faces a long-sought
after but difficult pregnancy. The true source of his family flashbacks
is revealled as the recent deaths of both his parents. Things soon spin
out of control as egos collide, art and life become confused, and Miles
must face the root causes of his malaise.
